The Storehouse: One Partner Agency Meeting Needs for Over 50 Years

There are few organizations in New Mexico who have served the food assistance needs of hungry communities as long as our partner agency, the Storehouse at 106 Broadway SE in Albuquerque. For over 50 years, the Storehouse has opened its doors to its clients in need of free food and clothing. During 2013 alone, the Storehouse registered over 80,000 clients for its services.

Eat For A Great Cause at Souper Bowl 2015!

What could be as fun and arguably even tastier than the NFL Super Bowl football championship next weekend? How about Roadrunner Food Bank’s Souper Bowl 2015?! This is a soup and dessert sampling event featuring this year more than 30 restaurants and chefs, from Bocadillos to Forque Kitchen Bar & Grill to many others!  In addition to featuring knockout food, guests can enjoy live music from The Peacemakers, bid at a silent auction, and bring home restaurant-quality soups after the event for $5! Attendees also can participate in our People’s Choice voting, selecting your favorite soups, vegetarian soups, desserts, and booth. Souper Bowl 2015 will take place on Saturday January  24th at our Albuquerque Branch.  Souper Bowl hours are from 11 am to 2 pm.  Tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under through Friday January 23rd at 4 pm. To buy early-bird tickets: Call 505.349.8921. Early-bird ticket prices are still available through Friday January 23rd at 4 pm. Any tickets purchased until the day of the event will be held at Will Call. Tickets prices the day of the event are $45 at the door. Last year’s Souper Bowl was named as the Weekly Alibi’s Best of Burque in the category of charity events.   < < < 2015 PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS > > > < < < BID ON SILENT AUCTION ITEMS AT SOUPER BOWL > > >

The National Dairy Council Helps to Nourish New Mexico’s Hungry

At Roadrunner, we are fortunate to have the capacity to leverage resources needed to nourish 70,000 New Mexicans each week. Recently, we found ourselves especially grateful to receive a $10,000 grant from the National Dairy Council (NDC), which allows us to purchase 10 freezer-less refrigerators and 10 chest freezers to share with our hardworking partner agencies! These freezers are helping increase the amount of fresh, healthy perishable food our hungry neighbors need.
