Roadrunner Food Bank Wins Ethics In Business Award

The Ethics in Business Awards are sponsored by the Samaritan Counseling Center.  The awards honor businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals who work in New Mexico and that demonstrate the highest ethical conduct and social responsibility.  In the announcement it was noted that, “even though it is a large organization with thousands of volunteers and paid staff, Roadrunner makes sure that its ethical standards are at the core of its being, and, are met and maintained.”  Roadrunner Food Bank was one of 6 nominees for the non-profit category.

2007 Nominees Announced

The Nomination Committee, led by Jim Culpepper, has announced the nominees for next year’s awards.  

An independent Screening Committee, made up of community volunteers, reviewed the 60 nominations and narrowed the nominee pool to 30, the maximum number of nominees allowable for research by the UNM Anderson Schools of Management. The 30 nominees were selected based on the criteria listed in the 2007 nominations process for the Awards.

Business Nominees are :
Bohannon Huston, Cooney Watson & Associates, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Excel Staffing Corporation, Los Alamos National Bank, Mattress Firm/D&A Mattress, Miller Stratvert PA, New Mexico Cancer Center, New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, Rydeski and Company, Service Electric, Smokey’s Auto Sales, The Cottages of Albuquerque, The Good Life, Inc., Thornburg Companies, Topline Maintenance & Repair and Vanessie of Santa Fe.

Not-for-Profit Organization Nominees are:

The Samaritan Counseling Center

The Samaritan Counseling Center has hosted the New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards since 2000. The program honors organizations and individuals who promote ethical business conduct for the benefit of the workplace, the marketplace, the environment and the community.

Ethical business practice is determined by right organizational and individual behavior based on high standards and exemplary practices. The Samaritan Counseling Center of Albuquerque founded and sponsors the New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards program for three reasons:

  • to foster a climate of ethical integrity in New Mexico;

  • to heighten awareness of the Samaritan Center within
    the business community;

  • to raise funds for the Samaritan Center's healing work.
