FIDELITY INVESTMENTS GIVES TO FOOD BANK Contributing A $15,000 Gift Albuquerque, NM - January 30, 2009 – The local office of Fidelity Investments made a generous and thoughtful gift to Roadrunner Food Bank in January. Fidelity heard about the large increases in the number of people who are seeking food assistance and immediately decided to respond. Kerry Prine, senior vice president and Albuquerque site general manager said, “Fidelity Investments, on behalf of its employees, is making a gift of $15,000 to Roadrunner Food Bank. Monies will be used to assist the Food Bank as they face an unprecedented increase in demand for their services.” Melody Wattenbarger, executive director at Roadrunner Food Bank said, “We are grateful to Fidelity for recognizing that there are so many individuals and families in need. These tough economic times mean more people will need help with food assistance. Our partner agencies are experiencing 30 and 40 percent increases in the number of people showing up requesting food. Thanks to partners such as Fidelity, we are able to continue our mission of ending hunger in New Mexico.” Roadrunner Food Bank distributes more than 60,000 pounds (equivalent to two semi loads) of food every day to hungry New Mexicans. For every dollar donated, Roadrunner Food Bank is able to distribute $9 worth of food.
"Fidelity is pleased to provide this donation on behalf of our employees to support the good work of Roadrunner Food Bank," said Prine," Although the holiday season is over, we know that there continues to be great need in the community, and we are happy to assist this important organization." ### Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico is New Mexico’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger.
