Recycling at the Food Bank

As part of our green initiatives, we now accept recyclable material and bale recyclables that are already part of our day to day activities.

Roadrunner Food Bank accepts:

  • Clean Plastics (all types without other materials attached such as metal)
  • Mixed Paper Products (Newspaper, magazines, office paper, books, product packaging)
  • Cardboard (Corrugated material)
  • Aluminum (All types)
  • ALL items must be sorted by type.  For example, plastics in one bag/container, aluminum in a separate one.  Cardboard and paper may be sorted as one category.

Please be sure that all product is free of food debris as to not attract pests or bugs of any sort into our warehouse.

Products we are unable to accept at this time:

  • Glass
  • Tin
  • Scrap metal
  • Toner cartridges
  • Chemicals/paints /oils

If you would like to give us recyclables, we are open and available for drop-offs Monday – Friday from 8am – 3:30 pm, excluding holidays when the Food Bank is closed.  Aluminum can be brought to us as described above, or, you may place aluminum in the large black bin located just inside our truck bay on the southern most end of our property. The gate is generally open from 7 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday.

Check in at the front desk and you will be directed to which dock to pull up to in our southern truck bay.  Please do not bring in recycling product into the main lobby.

If you have large recycling quantities (300-400 pounds) we may be able to schedule a pick up (a fee may apply).

If you are interested in regular pickups or have specific questions contact our Recycling Supervisor Lars Stendera at 505.967.6137 or recycling@rrfb.org.

We reserve the right to refuse any product.
