Director of Human Resources
General Description:
This is a salaried, full-time position
responsible for the direction, administration and planning the
day-to-day operations of Roadrunner Food Bank’s human resources programs
including payroll administration, benefits administration, and personnel
administration.
Duties will
include:

Administering
various human resources plans and procedures for all food bank
personnel; assisting in the development and implementation of
personnel policies and procedures; preparing and maintaining
employee handbook and policies and procedures manual
-
Performing benefits administration to include claims resolution,
change reporting, approving invoices for payment and
communicating benefit information to employees
-
Administering compensation program; monitoring performance
evaluation program and revising, as necessary
-
Developing communication tools and educational opportunities to
enhance understanding of Roadrunner Food Bank’s HR program
-
Accomplishing, assisting, and performing functions in the
following areas in Human Resources:
employee relations, recruiting and selection, development of
policies & procedures, and compliance
-
Supporting the Executive Director in developing and
administering policies and procedures relating to all phases of
human resources activity
-
Handling employee relations counseling and exit interviewing
-
Designing and implements the employee appraisal process
-
Conducting recruitment effort; conducting new-employee
orientations; monitoring career path program, writing and
placing advertisements
-
Managing work force health, safety and environment issues
-
Complying with
Food Bank policies, regulations, and
procedures
-
Preparing and completing various reports
and documents as assigned
-
Maintaining confidential computer and paper filing systems
-
Operating office machines and equipment such as: PC, Printer,
Photocopier, and Fax Machine
-
Preparing Microsoft® Excel®,
PowerPoint®, and Word® documents and
publications as required
-
Performing related and non-related duties
as required
Minimum
Candidate Attributes:
-
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
-
Minimum of five (5) years
of directly related experience
-
Proficient knowledge of the full scope of human resources
administration
-
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing
and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting
employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA,
Section 125, Worker’s Compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social
Security and DOL requirements.

Fully understands all benefits and plans that affect employees
at Roadrunner Food Bank

Proficient knowledge of all aspects of payroll administration
-
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state laws that affect HR
-
Remain current in developments within the industry
-
Knowledge of food bank policies and procedures
-
Good understanding of privacy laws
-
Able to maintain confidential information
-
Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills
-
Ability to follow through with multiple tasks and commitments to
completion
-
Ability to develop and implement quality and time efficient
procedures
-
Minimum of
a high-intermediate proficiency in computer and office machine
operations
-
Minimum of
high-intermediate proficiency in Microsoft®
Office System® suite including
Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, and Outlook®
-
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation

Fluent in Spanish
