Procurement and Purchasing Manager
General Description:
This is a salaried, full-time position
responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the Food Bank
in an efficient, timely, and economical manner to maximize cost
efficiencies. The Procurement and Purchasing Officer is a member
of the Finance Department and reports to the Director of Finance.
Duties will
include:

Reviewing and recommending service contracts from vendors
-
Sourcing new products and suppliers to maintain inventory needs for
operational and program goals while ensuring the most effective
price, terms and delivery

Negotiating inventory purchases based on current inventory levels,
lead times, forecasts, and trends
-
Creating additional cash flows through proper pricing and ordering
for the purchased food program
-
Managing and controlling system data integrity including bill of
materials, receiving records, inventory levels, and supplier
contacts

Identifying, reducing, or eliminating inactive items
-
Managing
budgets and working within appropriate financial parameters
-
Assisting with the development of internal purchasing policies,
strategies, and goals
-
Communicating with multiple departments in a professional and
courteous manner
-
Complying with
Finance Department and Food Bank policies, systems, and
procedures
-
Preparing and completing various reports as assigned
-
Maintaining confidential computer and paper filing systems
-
Operating office machines and equipment such as: PC, Printer,
Photocopier, and Fax Machine
-
Preparing Microsoft® Excel®,
and Word® documents and
publications as required
-
Performing related and non-related duties
as required
Minimum
Candidate Attributes:
-
Bachelors' Degree in related field
-
Minimum of two (2) years experience in
Purchasing and Procurement for a mid-size to large corporation
-
Working knowledge of buying practices, processes and procedures
-
Ability to develop and analyze complex reports
-
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
-
Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills
-
Ability to follow through with multiple tasks and commitments to
completion
-
Ability to develop and implement quality and time efficient
procedures
-
Minimum of
a high-intermediate proficiency in computer and office machine
operations
-
Minimum of
high-intermediate proficiency in Microsoft®
Office System® suite including
Word®, Excel®, and Outlook®
-
Intermediate proficiency with relational databases
-
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen

Three (3) or more years experience in
Purchasing and Procurement for a mid-size to large corporation with
some Food Procurement background

Advanced
proficiency in Microsoft® Office
System® suite including Word®,
Excel®, and Outlook®

Advanced proficiency in using relational databases
or experience using Microsoft® Dynamics NAV® software or Jet
Reports® software

Experience in a nonprofit environment

Fluent in Spanish
