Celebrate Favorite Men In Your Life & Support Roadrunner This Father’s Day!

On Sunday June 21st, you have the opportunity to not only celebrate your father, grandfather, and other favorite men in your life this Father’s Day. You can also help Roadrunner in our mission of feeding and empowering more than 70,000 hungry New Mexicans every week. These include many fathers who are doing their best to support their children, their families.

Here are a couple ideas on how you can celebrate the day and your loved ones, while supporting our hunger relief work.

If you are shopping online, try out the Amazon Smile program.  Once you register, select Roadrunner Food Bank and simply shop.  At check out, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to Roadrunner!

Furthermore, we can help you customize how you honor the favorite men in your life. Through our honor card program, we will send a Father’s Day themed card to your loved one. Visit this link or contact Flor Irvin at 505.349.5332 or flor.irvin@rrfb.org.

Here’s an example of one of the many fathers you can help with your support of Roadrunner.

Michael of Rio Rancho (NM) is a father of a family of seven. He taught one year at an area high school and was laid off last year due to budget cuts.  He is still seeking employment, even if it isn’t in his chosen teaching profession.  He said,

“We can keep a roof over our head, pay some of our bills, and manage to pay for some of my insulin medication, but there isn’t always enough for food.  What is left of our monthly income is about $60 for groceries for the entire month. For seven mouths to feed. We don’t know what we’d do without Roadrunner.”

Thank you for all of your support and wishing everyone a Happy Father’s Day ahead!
