Consider Honoring Your Mom & Roadrunner This Mother’s Day Weekend!

This coming weekend, May 9th-10th, marks an exciting time for Roadrunner! Not only will we facilitate one of our larger food drives of the year this Saturday May 9th with Stamp Out Hunger. On Sunday May 10th, Mother’s Day arrives! Now, you may be asking yourself, “How can I celebrate the work of Roadrunner and my mom in the same weekend?” We would like to help show you how AND to get the most out of your weekend!

Stamp Out Hunger might just be one of the straightforward yet most impactful food drives we do, meeting the summer food needs of hungry children and families when school meals end for summer break. To take part in Stamp Out Hunger, all you have to do is:

  1. Fill sturdy bags or boxes with non-perishable food.
  2. Leave the bag or boxes near your mailbox or bring to a post office near you on May 9th.
  3. Ask others to participate. To learn more, visit

If you do have time on Saturday afternoon to volunteer, we can still use extra hands at postal stations across Albuquerque. To volunteer, contact or call (505) 349-8921.

Then, there’s Mother’s Day on Sunday (May 10th). Did you know that when you shop online for Mother’s Day, you can also give to Roadrunner?

Through a unique service at Amazon called Amazon Smiles, a portion of your shopping purchase benefits Roadrunner! All you have to do is go to and when asked which “charitable organization” you want to give to, request Roadrunner Food Bank! For more info on Amazon Smiles, visit this link here.

Furthermore, Roadrunner offers “Honor & Memorial Gifts,” wherein you can donate to Roadrunner with a gift to honor your mom. To learn more how you can set up such a gift, visit our Honor and Memorial Gifts page here.

Thank you for continually supporting us at Roadrunner and on behalf of all of our staff here, we wish you and your family a Happy Mother’s Day ahead!
