Eligibility and Minimum Requirements

Effective partnerships are essential to our success. We seek to partner with organizations that make a significant impact on household food insecurity, provide resources to improve quality of life for clients and work with other partners, local officials and advocates to move towards ending hunger in New Mexico, permanently.

Organizations must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible to partner with the food bank:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit, part of a nationally recognized church affiliation or partnered with an organization that is a 501(c)(3)
  • Attend Partner Orientation
  • Complete application packet

If your organization is eligible and selected as a partner agency, there are some minimum requirements for continued partnership:

  • Distribute a minimum of 5,000 pounds every year. This breaks down to approximately 400 pounds a month or 25 pounds of food to 16 families each month.
  • Offer at least one SEED activity each month.  SEED activities are resources that are offered during distribution that can help clients in other areas. For example, information about SNAP applications, flu shots, nutrition education, etc.
  • Participate in at least two LEAD activities each year.  LEAD activities are actions that help strengthen and support our network and your individual agency. This might include calling in to voice your support of food assistance programs, meeting with the community to discuss hunger in your area or collaborating with other partners.
