Every year hundreds of organizations and individuals join our mission to end hunger in New Mexico by hosting a food & fund drive. In past years, this usually meant lugging a barrel to a store or office or special event and asking customers and co-workers to bring in canned and boxed food to fill up the barrel; then, lugging a heavy barrel back to the Food Bank and waiting days for the results. But in recent years the Food Bank has provided a fun and easy way to host a food & fund drive ONLINE!
No barrels, no heavy lifting, no waiting for the results – now it’s really easy to feed hungry people and build team morale by hosting and Online Food & Fund Drive. Visit the year-round website to register a team or as an individual, set your goal, create your own webpage and send emails asking friends, family and co-workers to support you in your efforts to raise money to feed hungry people. You will find email templates ready to go, just add your own email contacts and hit send. Anyone can donate directly on your behalf and the results show up automatically so you can measure your progress.

We launched the new and improved Online Food & Fund Drive this past holiday season and thanks to corporate teams like Fidelity and Presbyterian as well as dozens of individuals who raised money on our behalf, the Online Food & Fund Drive raised over $10,000 which was used to purchase nutritious food to feed hungry people across the state. $1 provides 5 meals so every dollar counts in a big way!
Fun ways to use this tool include setting up a webpage for your birthday and asking friends and family to make a donation in lieu of birthday gifts. You can set up a webpage in honor of a wedding or anniversary and ask friends and family to support the food bank to honor the special occasion. Organizations of all sizes can set-up cross-departmental teams to create a little friendly competition among employees and boost team spirit. The Online Food & Fund Drive website allows supporters to be creative and give back to the community in a convenient and fun way.
