Donating your vehicle is a unique way to consider a gift to Roadrunner Food Bank and at the same time support our mission to solve hunger. When you donate a new or used vehicle, we’re able to turn it into funds to obtain food to feed our neighbors in need. With the help of supporters like you, Roadrunner Food Bank can continue providing access to millions of pounds of healthy and nutritious food to New Mexicans experiencing hunger every year. Plus, when we turn your old vehicles into funds, your support is stretched even further.  Every $1 of support means up to 5 meals to those in need!

We work with a third-party nonprofit called CARS to facilitate this program. The program takes all types of vehicles as donations: cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, off-road vehicles, RVs — even boats and trailers! It doesn’t matter whether the vehicles runs or not. As long as it’s in one piece, has an engine, a clear title, and is towable, we’ll take it. Plus, you may qualify for a tax deduction on your vehicle donation — a win-win for everyone.

After you contact us about the vehicle donation, you’ll be contacted within 24 hours to schedule a pickup by our CARS partner. Typically we can pick up your vehicle within 2-3 business days. Our partner at CARS will work with whatever time and days work best for you.

After we pick up the vehicle, we’ll confirm when you can stop paying insurance on your old vehicle, and notify you when your vehicle has been sold. Once the vehicle is sold, we’ll send you a letter confirming the final donation amount and a formal IRS tax receipt letter. In the meantime, you can rest assured your kindness has already been put to work to help feed your hungry neighbors.
