Hunger Action Month
September is Hunger Action Month! Roadrunner Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, asks everyone in New Mexico to play a role in fighting hunger.
Hunger affects communities all across the country—rural, urban, and suburban. Right here in our state, nearly 40,000 people every week struggle with hunger.
Take action during Hunger Action Month! Together we create a voice for those struggling with hunger in our state.
Here are a few ways you can help during Hunger Action Month 2011:
- Participate and volunteer in our 9/11 remembrance on Sept. 9th. Please register to volunteer. At 10:30 am we’ll gather participants for a short program honoring and remembering the victims of 9/11 during the 10 year anniversary of that tragic day.
- Download Roadrunner Food Bank’s 30 Ways in 30 Days Calendar to find ways daily to make a difference.
- Visit participating Whataburger locations on Sept. 8th from 5 pm to 9 pm and 20% of your purchase benefits the Food Bank. You can view information about participating locations. Be sure to share it with your friends.
- Watch and share Matt Damon’s spot to see how he is involved with Hunger Action Month – HERE.
- Include our web banner on your website to promote Hunger Action Month.
We are working harder every day to assist individuals and families right here in New Mexico. Whether it’s by advocating and raising awareness, making donations, or giving of your time and energy, everyone can play a role in ending hunger during Hunger Action Month.
