Hunger Action Day: Bringing Food Banks & Communities Together

All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.”

These words from Martin Luther King Jr. compel, inspire, and motivate all of us here at Roadrunner, no matter how long, frustrating or trying some of our days may get. As today marks Hunger Action Day nationwide, we want to honor the energy, the labor, the time our staff and food bank staff across the country do for “labor that uplifts humanity.” Such labor is laden with “dignity and importance” and yes, “painstaking excellence” to provide meals, to nourish children, families, & seniors, and ultimately to build stronger, heathier communities.

We would love to have you join us this #HungerActionMonth, this #Spoontember, this #HungerActionDay and make every day of the year a Hunger Action Day!

There are still other ways to be involved with us throughout September:

  • Volunteering!  Register to help online at www.rrfb.org/volunteer
  • Taking a #Spoontember selfie!  Description plus hash tags
  • Giving!  Visit www.rrfb.org/giveameal and your gift has triple the impact.  Bank of America will match every $1 gift with $2 more.
