Did you know that you can give back to your community while doing your grocery shopping the next two Saturdays?

Join Roadrunner Food Bank with the Boy Scouts of America-Great Southwest Council & Yucca Council for Scouting For Food 2016 to solve hunger across New Mexico on Saturdays February 6th and February 13th!

On February 6th, Boy Scouts from the Great Southwest Council will be seeking non-perishable food donations at Albuquerque and Rio Rancho Smith’s Food & Drug supermarkets from 9:00 am-3:00 pm.

On February 13th, Boy Scouts from the Yucca Council will also be seeking non-perishable food donations at Lowe’s Market in Las Cruces from 7:00 am-4:00 pm.

In addition, you can text a monetary donation to us at Roadrunner at (505) 933-7732. Remember that $1 donated purchases five meals for a family in our community!

Your non-perishable food donation(s) this Saturday and next Saturday can help our hungry New Mexico neighbors like Jan.

Jan worked her entire life as a business professional and retired to care for her disabled husband. Often they struggle to afford all of their needs. Some months they have to decide whether to purchase his medication or food.  Periodically, she has to visit one of Roadrunner’s statewide partners to receive help with food.  Jan said, “It’s difficult to get by right now, but the food I receive makes it possible for us to eat and do all the other things that helps keep my husband’s health in check.  Thank goodness for programs like this one.  It truly helps ensure I have nutritious food available to feed us both.”

Thanks, Boy Scouts of America, Lowe’s Markets, & Smith’s Food & Drug Stores for partnering with us and we look forward to seeing you on February 6th & February 13th!
