JOIN A COMMITTEE

At Roadrunner® Food Bank of New Mexico, we are constantly striving for the most effective ways to support our mission to help New Mexicans facing hunger. We can’t do that without your help!

You are invited to take part in our board and committee work. Roadrunner Food Bank often seeks the guidance of experts in certain fields to further our mission. Being a member of the board helps formulate policies and direction of Roadrunner Food Bank. The committees listed meet on a regular basis and provide valuable input to both the board and staff. A background in the focus of the committee’s purpose is desired, but not necessarily required.

As a board or committee member, you will be at the heart of our work helping with the very operation of the food bank. Your participation will shape the direction of our work and help us better serve our hungry community members.

Advocacy Committee

The purpose of the advocacy committee is to proactively ensure that Roadrunner Food Bank is an effective advocate for New Mexicans experiencing hunger. Committee members should become versed in food security advocacy best practices and seeking ways for the food bank to implement them.

Development/Communications Committee

The development/communications committee helps assure the fiscal health of the food bank by maintaining and seeking fundraising opportunities, while also providing expertise on the communications strategy to promote recruitment, fundraising, and awareness.

Warehouse Advisory Committee

The warehouse committee provides expertise and insight into improving warehouse operations from food rescue pick ups to receiving to distribution.  Often a background in warehouse operations, logistics knowledge or a supply chain background is helpful when serving on this committee.

Health Advisory Committee

Feeding hungry New Mexicans is not only about providing food; it’s about supporting healthy food access and choices. The health advisory committee works to maintain and build policies and programs that promote healthy nutrition and health access for the families the food bank serves. In addition they have served as a sounding board to help create and build our Health and Wellness Initiative.

Board of Directors

The board of directors is tasked with steering the food bank’s future. Their goals are to make to make sure the food bank has adequate resources for ongoing operations and to build and maintain the policies and procedures so that the food bank’s work is ethical and sustainable.

If you are seeking to become a member of our board of directors or wish to serve on a committee, please send an email or call us to tell us a little bit about you and your interest in Roadrunner Food Bank.
