MEDICATION AND PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNTS
The Kaiser Family Foundation reports that one in four U.S. adults don’t fill their medication prescriptions due to cost. Our own Hunger in America study shows that roughly 60% of hungry homes are making tough choices and are unable to afford both food and medical care at the same time. For that reason, Roadrunner Food Bank® of New Mexico and BuzzRx® have partnered to bring a FREE prescription drug discount program to anyone in New Mexico. Hungry families are able to use the FREE discount service and our volunteers and supporters are, too!
The FREE prescription drug discount program is available to anyone of any income or residency status, regardless of existing prescription drug coverage. The purpose of the program is to save both our neighbors in need and our supporters expenses when filling prescriptions and medications. Not only can you receive a discount every time you use this discount card, but at the same time, a donation is made on your behalf to Roadrunner Food Bank by our partner BuzzRx®.
Since starting the partnership, the program has helped the food bank provide 80,000 additional meals to hungry New Mexicans! Every time you use the discount card, it saves you money and helps the food bank secure more meals for our hungry neighbors.
The card is accepted at nearly every pharmacy and is available to everyone. Using the card saves cardholders an average of 59%, or about $382 every year on medications.
