CORPORATE AND BUSINESS SUPPORTERS

Roadrunner® Food Bank works with corporate and business supporters that help us fulfill our mission of ending hunger in New Mexico. Our for-profit corporate and business supporters give time, money, and even food to Roadrunner Food Bank in a variety of ways, including sponsorships, grant funds, cause marketing campaigns, gifts of food from our food rescue partners, employee focused food and fund drives, and employee volunteer days. We are grateful to have a long list of corporate and business supporters who provide us with resources on a number of levels statewide.

Companies and businesses involved in supporting Roadrunner Food Bank are all a part of our Corporate Cares Society.

Corporate and Businesses – Many Ways to Give Funds

Many of our corporate and business supporters provide us with funding to help support our mission of feeding the hungry in New Mexico. There are several ways your corporation or business can get involved with Roadrunner Food Bank. Your financial support automatically makes you a member of our Corporate Cares Society:

  • Make an annual gift as part of your corporate charitable giving program.
  • Hold a Food and Fund Drive among your employees and provide a matching gift from your corporation or business.
  • Volunteer as a team-building opportunity with your employees at the food bank.
  • Set up a recurring donation in honor of your employees.
  • Sponsor a food bank event or host an event on our behalf.
  • Invest in our mission through a grant, yearly annual gift, or cause marketing activity.
  • Make an in-kind contribution of tangible items we may need.

Volunteer Support from Corporations and Businesses

Another way corporations and businesses can get involved with Roadrunner Food Bank is through a volunteer opportunity. We welcome pre-scheduled groups of volunteers to assist in our warehouse.  Your gift of time provides the helping hands needed to sort, prep, and re-pack food items in our warehouse which end up being distributed through our hunger relief network across the state.

Many of our corporate and business donors have regularly scheduled employee opportunities for volunteers to come once a month to help out, or create a schedule to come out and volunteer various times throughout the year. Setting up and scheduling a volunteer opportunity together with your employees is a great team-building exercise and can help complement your employee workplace giving activities.

Corporations and Businesses in the Food Industry Can Donate Surplus Food

We work with for-profit food industry corporations and businesses to rescue food all across the state.  Food rescue is the process of capturing edible food that would otherwise go to waste or wind up in a landfill. Food loss can occur at every stage of the food production system and providing a way to donate excess or  surplus product provides our statewide network of hunger relief partners with millions of pounds of edible and quality food items. The types of food donated vary from food donor to food donor, but include perishable product, fruits, vegetables, and non-perishable food items.  Food industry supporters that donate food to Roadrunner Food Bank include:

  • Manufacturers
  • Wholesalers
  • Distributors
  • Supermarkets and grocery stores
  • Growers and farmers

Many of our corporate and business food donors provide products to us on a regular basis, often weekly or bi-weekly. Our fleet and staff coordinate pick ups at hundreds of these locations throughout the month.
