WE ARE FEEDING AMERICA

Roadrunner® Food Bank of New Mexico is part of a national network of 200 plus food banks across the United States called Feeding America. This national membership allows us bring resources to New Mexico that help our hungry neighbors. These resources come in the form of access to funding, food donated by national food companies, best practices, and much more. In fact, when you see the Feeding America brand here in New Mexico, the funds raised come back to benefit the food bank.

As a nationwide network of food banks, Feeding America is the largest domestic hunger-relief organization and is a leader in helping solve America’s hunger crisis. Through its 200 member food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs, this national network is able to provide services that help more than 46 million people each year.

Through its 200 member food banks 60,000 food pantries and meal programs are able to receive food and provide services that help more than 46 million people each year.

Who Feeding America Serves

Feeding America and its network of food banks is committed to serving all Americans who are facing food insecurity. Many individuals and families may not be able to put food on the table for a variety of reasons, including homelessness, unemployment, illness, disability, or poverty. There are children and adults facing hunger in every community in the U.S., and this could include your neighbor, classmate, or even a coworker who is struggling to get enough to eat.

Feeding America and its partner food banks, including Roadrunner Food Bank, focus on helping individuals and families bring food to the table, including focusing on:

  • Children
  • Seniors
  • Veterans
  • Low-income families
  • Disabled individuals
  • Unemployed individuals and their families

The Work Feeding America Does

Feeding America is committed to working with our communities to end hunger. As the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, Feeding America works with individuals, charities, businesses, and the government to put food on the table for those who need it most.

As the largest food bank in New Mexico and one of the Feeding America’s 200 food banks, Roadrunner Food Bank is also committed to ending hunger in our community. Like Feeding America, we focus on:

  • Food recovery and rescue – We work with a variety of partners to rescue food that might otherwise be thrown in the trash and wasted, and instead can be sent to those that need it.
  • Foods that nourish – We focus on providing healthy, fresh food to those who may not have access to it, either due to its expense or because they live in a food desert.
  • Food safety – We are committed to upholding federal regulations to ensure all of the food that our partner networks give to their communities is held to the highest standards of food safety.
  • Food security – We work to find ways for individuals and families to build food security into their futures.

You can contribute to our
mission to feed the hungry in New Mexico and the mission of Feeding America by donating food, funds, or your time.
