You made a difference! Thank you for giving food during Stamp Out Hunger on Saturday, May 11!

The results are in!  In Albuquerque, the community helped provide 150,100 pounds of food during the annual Stamp Out Hunger event. We are so grateful for all the support we received!  Special thanks to our letter carriers, the United States Postal Service, every single volunteer who helped, KOB TV, 96.3 KKOB FM, their sister stations, Clear Channel Outdoor, and so many others who raised their hand to get involved.

Even though the event is over, w are also seeking volunteer to continue to help sort food at the food bank. Register at rrfb.org/cervis.

Background on the event

Hosted by The National Association of Letter Carriers and the United States Postal Service, the largest national food drive (Stamp Out Hunger) occurs annually on the second Saturday in May. This year that’s Saturday, May 11, so remember to leave non-perishable food items at your mailbox for letter carriers to collect! In Albuquerque, keep your eye out for the blue bag to be delivered right to you with your mail the week of the food drive. No blue bag? Any bag or box will work!

In Albuquerque, food collected through Stamp Out Hunger benefits Roadrunner Food Bank. We are so grateful to our local letter carrier’s union for going above and beyond to help feed our neighbors in need. We can’t run this event without their participation, and we need you too!

While volunteers were needed to sort food donations at 11 Albuquerque post offices, more help is still needed inside our warehouse to continue processing the food.  Click here to see available volunteer shifts.

In addition to non-perishable food items, you are also welcome to donate funds. Every dollar donated to Roadrunner Food Bank helps us distribute up to five meals to New Mexicans experiencing hunger.

We thank you for all the ways you choose to support this event!
