As a Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico member partner, your organization can experience many benefits and access to resources. You’ll of course receive food product from our Albuquerque warehouse, but you’ll also gain access to resources for your constituents, food safety training, conferences, best practices and more. Plus, as our member partner you will have access to the national resources we bring to our statewide hunger relief network through our partnership with Feeding America.

Member Partner Benefits

  • Sourcing and acquiring a variety of food product such as: fruits, vegetables, refrigerated and frozen food items, canned good items, boxed good item, hygiene products, cleaning products, and paper goods. Sometimes we also receive in-kind donations of refrigerators, freezers, office furniture, shelving and other items that we can share with your organization.
  • Commercial and food grade warehousing based in New Mexico that allows the statewide hunger relief network to have a central location to store food items.  It also allows for economies of scale in terms storing and warehousing millions of pounds of food at one time.
  • Warehouse to site delivery by our fleet our vehicles to communities across the state. Technology allows us to let you know when your truck will arrive. 
  • Purchasing power for the benefit of the network as we seek tractor trailer loads of food from across the country and also internationally.
  • Repacking bulk product into family sized packaging for our statewide network (includes cereal, rice, beans, and other food items).
  • Administration, storage and transportation of USDA food products to individual sites.
  • Training for your organization in food safety, food storage/handling and compliance practices.
  • Food rescue training, reporting, and relationship building with national food rescue businesses as assigned by Roadrunner Food Bank staff.
  • Food recall notification system.

Member Partner Resources

As a committed food provider for your constituents, receiving healthy, nutritious food is the most important part of your program. Roadrunner Food Bank also provides ancillary resources that may assist your clients with additional resources.

  • Capacity building and problem solving consultation to help navigate complicated scenarios or changes in your organization.
  • SNAP Outreach training for your staff, volunteers and entire sites to help clients apply for the benefit.  The program also provides a toll free number and email for Roadrunner Food Bank staff and volunteer to help your clients complete the application over the phone.
  • Food assistance phone hotline for clients. This phone number gives individuals a lifeline to find nearby organizations we supply food to.  Families can then get food as quickly as possible.
  • Possibility of AmeriCorps Members placed at your site to assist with services your organization provides to clients.
  • Nutrition education, nutrition education opportunities, and resources.
  • Utilizing a free client registration portal to better understand the people served through your food distributions. Free training is available to partners opting-in to participate.
  • Training and sharing best practices at food bank hosted conferences and meetings with similar organizations across the state.
  • County level meetings hosted by food bank staff to improve services, collaborate, and coordinate services across counties.
  • Co-branding opportunities with your agency and the food bank
  • Access to materials such as USDA materials, nutrition education, voting, and other general food assistance materials
  • Access to national and local research about the clients we serve.
  • Support wrap around services to provide ancillary help to people facing hunger.

Organizations or groups seeking to become a member partner should complete this short questionnaire regarding your needs and intentions. Once the form is submitted, our staff will review it and get back to you within a few weeks. Please note, this is not the official application or agreement of partnership.  It simply helps us understand your current food assistance program or your intentions to start one.

Spring 2024: Update on Partnership Requests

Your request to partner with Roadrunner Food Bank is important!  We are eager to learn about your organization and your interest in serving your immediate community with food assistance services.

We hope you understand that our team is currently undergoing a restructuring. It means we are temporarily pausing onboarding or committing new organizations to our statewide hunger-relief network — except in extenuating or unusual circumstances.

This temporary pause will be in effect until after July 1, 2024, to give us time to design an effective and comprehensive process to best partner with you, your organization, and the community that benefits from your services.  However, please continue to complete the interest form below in case we need to consider any unusual circumstances occurring in your community right now.

In the meantime, if you need to direct people to food help in or near your community, use our Food Finder tool at www.rrfb.org/find-food and enter a zip code in the field near the map. Expand your search area for rural communities, click on each location for details, and be sure to call each location before visiting.
