New Mexico Hunters Helping the Hungry is a wild game meat donation program administrated by Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque.
HOW IT WORKS:
There are several certified meat processors across the state currently enrolled in the program. See below for a full list.
- All costs of processing are covered by specific donors, so there is no cost to the hunter or processor. (The hunter may also elect to
donate the fees if they choose.) - Processors will grind and package the meat according to outlined food safety protocols.
- Roadrunner or one of its partner hunger-relief agencies will collect the meat from the processor.
- Wild game meat will be distributed by partner agencies to provide food to those in need.
Roadrunner Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping hungry people throughout New Mexico.
